| 1 | Allow butter and cream cheese to soften. Leave out for 1 hour approx. | 2 | Place cream cheese in medium bowl | 3 | Add vanilla extract. Mix in well. | 4 | Add 1/2 cup of powdered sugar at a time and mix. | 5 | Mix until smooth with no clumps. | 6 | Spread out on top of cooled carrot cake. | 7 | Add nuts if desired by sprinkling them on the top. |
