Steps
Sequence Step
1Place 1 cup sugar, oil, water, yeast, milk, cardamom and eggs in large mixer bowl with dough hook attachment. Stir to combine and let rest 10 minutes.
2Add flour and salt to mixer bowl and mix for 15 minutes.
3Remove dough from mixer to lightly floured surface and knead 5 to 10 times.
4Place dough into a oiled bowl and flip dough to coat both sides.
5Let dough rise in a warm place until double in size. About an hour.
6Cut and weigh dough into 4 ounce balls of dough.
7Roll each ball of dough into a long rope (12 inches).
8Braid three ropes of dough together. Pinch each end under.
9Place Braids on a parchment lined baking pan. Brush with egg wash, twice. (2 eggs and 2 tablespoons water well beaten).

11Sprinkle granulated sugar over each braid. sprinkle each braid with sliced almonds.
12Let Braids rise in a warm place until double.
13Bake in preheated 325 degree oven 15 to 17 minutes or until lightly browned.
14Remove to cooling rack. Cool completely.
15Package in food approved packaging. Store covered or freeze up to one month.
