1 | Mix warm water with yeast in bowl, let sit 5 mins to activate, while melting shortening and butter. |
2 | Melt Shortening and butter, add to bread machine pan first. |
3 | Pour water and yeast into melted butter. |
4 | Add honey and evaporated milk. |
5 | Slowly add all dry ingredients. |
6 | Set machine to dough. Let rise in machine. |
7 | Remove dough from machine:
divide dough in half if making loaf or into rolls if making rolls,
roll out and punch out air bubbles.
Place in buttered loaf/muffin/cookie sheets, butter the tops of the dough, cover loosely with plastic wrap. Let rise in warm area until doubled; second rise should take about 30 minutes. |
8 | Place a small pan of water on bottom shelf of the oven. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. |
9 | Bake for 25-35 minutes, or until tops are dark golden brown. Butter crusts while warm. Slice when cool. |
