Steps
Sequence Step
1Mix warm water with yeast in bowl, let sit 5 mins to activate, while melting shortening and butter.
2Melt Shortening and butter, add to bread machine pan first.
3Pour water and yeast into melted butter.
4Add honey and evaporated milk.
5Slowly add all dry ingredients.
6Set machine to dough. Let rise in machine.
7Remove dough from machine: divide dough in half if making loaf or into rolls if making rolls, roll out and punch out air bubbles. Place in buttered loaf/muffin/cookie sheets, butter the tops of the dough, cover loosely with plastic wrap. Let rise in warm area until doubled; second rise should take about 30 minutes.
8Place a small pan of water on bottom shelf of the oven. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
9Bake for 25-35 minutes, or until tops are dark golden brown. Butter crusts while warm. Slice when cool.
