Recipe Description I came across this recipe years ago, and I've tweaked it many times. The calories are not that low, but most of the ingredients are good for you, and the children loved it.

cup, packedbrown sugar

cupany oats work
1
cupflour unbleached
1
cupwheat flour, wholewheat

cupwheat germ

largeeggs, white only

cups, halvespecans

packages (12 oz)chocolate chips, semi sweet, Ghirardelli
Steps
Sequence Step
1Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a mixing bowl, cream the butter and brown sugar.
2Combine oats, flours and wheat germ; gradually add to creamed mixture. Press into a greased 13" x 9" x 2" baking pan.
3Chop the pecans. In a small bowl, beat eggs until foamy. Add pecans and chocolate chips to the egg mixture, and spread evenly over crust.
4Bake for 30-35 mins or until edges are golden brown. Cool on a wire rack, and cut into bars. Store in the refrigerator.
