Simple Pastry Shell
Ingredients
Amt. Measure Ingredient
2
cupsflour
1
teaspoonsalt
1/2
teaspoonbaking powder
1/2
cupcanola oil
1/4
cupskim milk
Steps
Sequence Step
1Preheat oven to 450F.
2In a medium bowl, combine flour, salt, and baking powder. Mix well and set aside.
3Combine oil and milk in measuring cup, but do not mix. Pour into flour mixture. Stir with a fork until mixed.
4Press dough firmly into a ball, and divide in half. Roll out each half between two sheets of waxed paper to make crust for 2 single-crust pies. Handle dough gently, as it tends to break apart quite easily.
5Place each crust in 9" pie pans. For recipes calling for pre-cooked pie shells, prick the bottom of the crust with a fork and bake for about 12 minutes, or until golden.
